Personal face-to-face interviews at homes, PAPI and CAPI, on probability random national or regional samples; personal interviews with different target groups, business-to-business, stakeholders and expert community. Surveys in in any region of Russia or other post-Soviet counties using wide network of experienced interviewers.
PERSONAL INTERVIEWS
Telephone interviews (CATI) national and regional on dual-frame samples of mobile and stationary phones, with general population or special target groups. Several Survey Call Centers across the country: different time zones, large number of high quality interviews simultaneously.
TELEPHONE SURVEYS
Online self-administrative or interviewer-assisted online interviews across all Russia and other countries, among special target groups, online diaries, testing concepts, texts, advertising materials. We also conduct surveys in the form of online forums, whiteboards and chats.
ONLINE SURVEYS
Central location tests and interviews, surveys in-stores (public catering, shopping centers, financial institution, transportation centers, exhibitions) using tablets and other methods. Surveys are conducted in Russia or any other place of post-Soviet region.
CLT, IN-HALL, IN-STORE SURVEYS
Focus-groups, in-depth interviews, cognitive interviews, interviews in dyads and triads (couples, family, friends, community, experts), mini-groups, online focus-groups and interviews, using projective methods, role games, brain storming methods, psychological tests. Surveys are conducted in CESSI professional facilities in Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod and Kyiv with the equipment for online transmission, and partners’ facilities in many other regions. We employ several experienced moderators, group of professional transcribers and high quality simultaneous translators, qualitative data analysts for preparation of reports – topline, extensive analytical reports and practical recommendations.
FOCUS-GROUPS, IN-DEPTH INTERVIEWS
Testing products (taste, smell, consumer properties and traits, sounds and visual stimulus) monadic, sequential, comparative. We product the research and testing support for developing new products, testing it on large as well as small groups.
TESTS AND LABORATORIAL RESEARCH
Diaries and autobiographic methods including online interviews, observations – home visits, accompanied shopping, accompanied daily activities, observation of behavior in different circumstances including eye-tracking, emotion register, video- and photo-research reportages.

Post-Soviet Trends
Comparative cross-national trend survey of attitudes, behavior, living conditions and quality of life in post-Soviet countries. This academically-driven project initiated by CESSI is based on cross-sectional national surveys of the general population in 12 countries of the former Soviet Union. Surveys have been conducted each 4-5 years since 2003.
Russian Comparative Social survey (RSS) comparable with ESS
Fundamental baseline survey of social dynamic and major indicators of Russian society, key source of social data in the country. It monitors attitudes, opinions, values and behavior of Russians every two year, providing time trends and the comparisons with other European countries (ESS survey).
National survey of elderly people (NSEP) comparable with SHARE
The longitudinal survey of the Russian population of 50 years old, comparable with SHARE – the comparative survey of ageing in Europe. The survey is based on the national probability random sample by face-to-face interviews in respondent’s homes in cooperation with HSE – first round in 2021, second in 23. Multiple topics and domains of elderly’s life: health and health services, family relations and social contacts, material situation and pension provision, cognitive abilities and mental health, social wellbeing and values.
Life course of generation entering adulthood in 1990s
The unique academic project by the Russian Scientific Fund in 2023-2025 (principal researcher – A.V. Andreenkova) aiming to study the impact of historical events and context on the life course of the generation, the life course of the last generation grown up in the USSR but spending young adulthood in the turbulent 1990s. The continuation of longitudinal survey RUSSET-1990-s after 30 years, autobiographies, in-depth and cognitive interviews with respondents from this generation.
Cost of Living Survey
Cost of living survey and the Regional Index of cost of living helps HR professionals to plan compensation and benefits policies, introduce timely changes and indexation. Index reflects the dynamic of prices for goods and services included in standard consumer basket for different groups of population including employees of large companies. It helps to estimate the cost of living differences between cities and regions.
